Tamara L. Eve Byrnes is a New York City–based multidisciplinary artist whose work explores memory, resilience, human connection, and transformation through expressive contemporary painting. Educated at Smith College and Amherst College, she further refined her artistic practice through painting studies at Parsons School of Design in Manhattan and an internship at the Brooklyn Museum of Art.
Her work has been exhibited at the Amherst College Museum of Art and the Jersey City Museum of Art, and she is also the recipient of the national Martin Luther King Jr. Poetry Award. Alongside her artistic career, Byrnes worked extensively in public service and advocacy, focusing on children’s rights, international human rights, and environmental justice — experiences that continue to influence the emotional depth and social consciousness within her work.
In 2026, Byrnes’ “Roses” series was selected as the Artist of Excellence for the NOLCHA x St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital showcase in Miami Beach, presented as the official closing event of the annual Consensus conference and viewed by more than 2,000 attendees during the week’s cultural programming. She is currently developing a new body of work for 2026, continuing her exploration of beauty, vulnerability, and emotional permanence through richly layered compositions.
